I'm currently in my 11th year as an educator with a passion for Literacy! I have taught in Florida, Georgia & North Carolina. I have instructed in all of the K-5 Grade Levels except 1st Grade. I have also instructed in the Co-Teaching setting as well as the Inclusion setting. I have a degree in Elementary Education with a Masters in Educational Leadership. I also have my Reading Specialist Certificate. I am currently a Literacy Coach at a year around school.
I am a USMC wife with a 3 year old daughter & 2 large dogs. I was born in NY & was raised in FL. I played softball through college & still have a passion for the sport along with other sports.

I love to go to the pool & beach weekly with my husband, daughter & friends. I also enjoy outdoor activities, gatherings & sporting events.
If I'm indoors I like to clean & organize, crazy right?!?! LOL! Everything has a place & it has to be just right.
I enjoy creating crafts for my home & life along with creating educational products.
You can also find me at the gym. I try to get up to 4 days a week in at the gym. I mentally & physically feel better when I work out. It is a daily brain detox. It's the only time of day I don't think about anything but myself.
A few things I'm obsessed with are chalkboards, pens/markers, stationary, front/back porch decorating, clean eating & part-time homeschooling my daughter! Yes, I love to sit down a few times a week & work with her on her letters, numbers & fine motor skills. I like to practice what I preach to parents... Teachers can't educate children alone, they need to be a team with parents! It is my goal to be the parent who reads every day with my child & "instructs" at least 3 days a week for reinforcement of skills & concepts.
At the end of the previous school year I started to read, research & experiment with implementing Close Reading during my small group instruction. I quickly fell in love with the results & enthusiasm I was seeing from my students. So I made it my mission for this current school year to implement a Close Reading Book Study at school during the 1st Semester along with creating a yearly series of Close Reading Packs in my store. Each month I have created a high-interest Informational Close Reading pack that can be implemented in a variety of ways. You can implement this product on a weekly basis as there is 4 weeks worth of materials for 1 passage. You can use these with students in whole group, small group or independently.
