Hello everyone! I am here this weekend to share a Blog that I Admire! If you have been following my Facebook Page, click HERE, you may have read the clues I have posted every evening this week. Did anyone guess correctly?!?! Well let me just get right on into it....
I Admire....
Elyse! From Proud to be Primary!

I discovered Elyse through my journey with TpT, Blogging & our Facebook Group. I always read her Blog & Facebook page. I was at first taken in by her beautiful Blog & products. Anyone LOVE poetry in Primary? Read Elyse's blog posts about poetry in her classroom & check out her poetry products in her store. Then I kind of got to know her better when reading her Bio & communicating back & forth through Blog Posts & our Facebook Group. I found out that Elyse & I have a lot in common. We have evolved into cyber buddies I guess you could say. So when our little group started preparing for this event, Blogs We Admire, Elyse was my first thought!
So I contacted our group leader, Amanda over at Primary Gal (click on Primary Gal for a direct link), & she hooked me up with Elyse without here knowing. I asked to implement & review Elyse's Frog & Toad Fun Book Reports Unit.

So, once I received a file of this product I began to prep the product, collect the books & make my copies for my kiddos. Everything is included in the product, seriously! Everything from table of contents, ideas, instruction, student sheets, answer keys & extras. Since my daily schedule is 1/2 day 2nd Grade Title I Reading teacher & just returning from a 2 1/2 week Spring Intersession, I would not have had enough time to do all 4 books with all 4 of my small groups. Therefore, I decided to use one book with each group. It worked out perfectly, because we had been working on our written comprehension responses during the 3rd 9 weeks before Intersession. So this was the perfect activity to get my 2nd Grade students back into the routine of writing about reading & going back into the text to find evidence.
So here's my recap this week implementing this product...
Group 1:
Days With Frog & Toad
Group 2:
Frog & Toad Together
Group 3:
Frog & Toad Are Friends
(1 of my kiddos was absent when I took their picture...)
Group 4:
Frog & Toad All Year
(1 of my kiddos was absent when I took their picture...)
This product was soooo much fun! I know that anyone who gets it will feel the same way:) My kids as you can see in the photos LOVED it & it got them back in the habit of our writing practice after their long break. Elyse offers so many other quality products, definitely check them out!

Ok Dianna,
ReplyDeleteFirst of all...thank you for choosing me as someone you admire. It feels strange to be admired...let alone have anyone even like my blog. I have been doing this for such a short time, it amazes and excites me when people care.
Second of all...so glad that we are becoming blogging buddies. I love your energy and kindness. I think we'd get along fabolously in person. Let's plan to meet up at next years tpt conference (not going this year though...are you?) ?!
Third, love your review of my frog and toad pack. I'm glad your second graders enjoyed the activities and that it provided them with the necessary review after a long break.
Lastly, YOU ROCK!!! Please let me know how I can repay the favor some day soon! I posted about your blog post on my facebook page and hoping that brings you some traffic. I will pin it all now and plan on linking to it in my own blog post sometime this weekend.
Love Elyse

Ha ha! It was so hard all week talking to you online & not saying anything. I swear every night I was telling Jeff, I gotta right Elyse back & I can't say anything!!!!
DeleteI agree, I've been doing it for a short time too & it's like OMG somebody likes me & my stuff!!! Ha ha!!! I'm so happy too we're becoming cyber friends! I feel like I already know you in person:)
I'm not going to the TpT conference this year, we start back to school the following Monday & I have to work over our short summer intersession. So it was just bad timing, plus I'm going to see Dave Matthews (bucket list for me)!!! After we took Harper for pizza tonight, I was telling Jeff we should set up a skype date!
There's been a lot of traffic the second half of today than this morning. It's going pretty well! Hopefully it helps you out as well. Thanks for sharing the post & no, you don't have to repay me! I'm sure I'll talk to you tomorrow:)
Love, Dianna
Hi! You did a good job of not telling me anything...I'm just a snooper so I was looking out for clues lol!
DeleteYou must be going on summer break soon if you start in July again?! That's not fair to be in session in the hot weather...how many intersessions do you have? My husband shares you bucket list item...huge Dave Matthews fan! :)
Great to hear about the traffic...I'm always surprised more people don't comment when so much hard work goes into a post!
Talk soon
Elyse :)
