***BRAND NEW*** Book Study Guide ~ Literacy Professional Development!

Welcome back friends!

Today I am here writing about a passion of mine, a passion of reading [besides my trashy and crafty magazines]! I mostly engage in reading about literacy instruction. I have a love of reading research and I feel like it is the most undervalued means of growing professionally. Reading, responding and reflecting with other teachers who have the same goal in mind is a valuable way to grow in your own instruction.

So I'm *CALLING ALL COACHES, ADMINISTRATION AND TEACHER LEADERS* who would love to incorporate Book Studies with fellow teachers. This product can be used for and with a Professional Development or just as a book study to grow together.

This is the first Professional Development Book Study I'm posting, with more on the way!

Let me dive right in and explain it all to you!

This product was made for Literacy Professional Development with a focus of Guided Reading. The goal is to increase effectiveness of small group literacy instruction. For me personally, I use books to enhance my professional development and to get my teachers engaged in reading from the best! I use this as my BSR [Between Session Reading]! We meet weekly face to face for professional development as well. We do all of our BSR online through Edmodo. You can also use another platform to do so or use this item during your face to face time.

Here's a little more information behind the reasoning and purpose of this product as well as how to use it!

I have created questions to generate thoughtful thinking and conversations with other participants. The file in this product has an editable date, as I stated above. This way you can set the pace for the participants. You will receive a slide for each chapter in the book to use.

As a Literacy Coach, there are awesome moments. But the most warming to me, is when I have teachers engaging in rich conversations with each other over new learnings with the same end goal in mind. It is the highlight as I facilitate professional development at my school. Learning and collaborating because you want to, is something special! In my few short years at my current school, whenever I do sit back and soak it all in, I am completely amazed at what I am seeing and hearing in my school. I work with a fantastic group of teachers who are very motivated and work hard. They do have some fun personalities too! Which makes it even better! We laugh a lot! I feel very honored that they give me their time so we can work together professionally.
